Volleyball is already the #1 most played girls' youth team sport. There are 38M current and former players today. Of major sports, it's the only one that is women-first (~90% of players are women). But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands, and media.LOVB is capturing this opportunity. Today, we have created the largest youth club business in the country and are creating the next major American sports league. This community-up approach will drive participation and fandom, while enabling greater empowerment for girls and young women living this amazing sport. In this role, you will join a mission-driven, roll-up-your-sleeves team of innovators and builders who have come together to change the paradigm of professional volleyball and women’s sport.The Role: As the Head of Growth Marketing for LOVB Pro, you will lead our marketing efforts to drive fan acquisition, retention, and engagement. You will develop and execute innovative marketing strategies that leverage data analytics, digital platforms, and creative campaigns to grow our audience and maximize revenue streams. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can collaborate with various departments to enhance our brand presence and fan loyalty in support of LOVB Pro and our six teams.Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement a comprehensive growth marketing strategy that aligns with LOVB’s overall goals and objectives to activate, engage, and retain customer base.Data-Driven Insights:
Utilize analytics to identify growth opportunities, monitor campaign performance, and adjust strategies accordingly.Fan Acquisition:
Design and execute targeted campaigns to attract new fans, leveraging digital marketing, social media, email marketing, and partnerships. Establish cross-channel media strategy and effective go-to-market tactics across paid channels.Retention & Engagement:
Create initiatives aimed at increasing fan loyalty and engagement, including loyalty programs, exclusive content, and event experiences.Cross-Department Collaboration:
Work closely with partnerships, product, community relations and product teams to ensure cohesive messaging and maximize marketing and product efforts.Budget Management:
Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources for maximum ROI.Trend Analysis:
Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies to keep our marketing efforts ahead of the curve.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.7+ years of experience in marketing, with a focus on growth and digital strategies.2+ years of sports industry experience.Proven track record of driving customer acquisition and engagement through innovative marketing campaigns.Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to inform decision-making and optimize marketing strategies.Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a collaborative and inspiring approach.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.Proficiency in marketing tools and platforms, including CRM systems, email marketing, social media, and analytics tools.Must be a team player with a strong fan focus.Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as required.Personal Attributes:
