Writing & Social Media Intern

Work Location:Madison, WI - National Office

Schedule:Full time

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position will participate in a group process, which results in creating and implementing a broad range of high-quality communication pieces.

About the internship: Join our community of media and communication professionals for the summer! Based in Madison, WI, the 2100 team has been serving God through communications for over fifty years through different forms of media, now including design, editorial, instructional design, UX, and video production. This internship program includes community with other interns, low-cost housing with InterVarsity staff or local church members, and experience with a Christian organization on mission together. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and contribute to content that reflects the purpose, mission, and core values of InterVarsity:

Participate in team meetings, project brainstorming, and evaluation sessionsWork collaboratively with other InterVarsity teams to develop communication toolsWrite creative copy to market InterVarsity's ministries, services, and productsWrite accurate and interesting text for reports, handbooks, brochures, and websitesWrite thank-you letters to donorsWrite stories and news articles on InterVarsity's ministryInterview staff, students, and alumni for stories by phone, by email, or in personResearch websites, print publications, and video and audio resources for article ideasProofread and edit various piecesContribute to InterVarsity's social media strategy and goals:

Generate, edit, publish, and share content (original text, images, videos, etc.) on InterVarsity's social platforms that builds meaningful connections and furthers InterVarsity's brand, in collaboration with other team membersModerate all user-generated content in line with InterVarsity's moderation policiesCollaborate with Focused Ministries and Missions Department staff to promote special events and activities on InterVarsity's social accountsEnsure coordination of social posts and other InterVarsity communicationParticipate in the ministries of InterVarsity:

Attend and/or assist with NSC events, InterVarsity conferences, etc., as agreed upon with supervisorMaintain sound financial status:

Raise personal support at the level assigned by supervisorDevelop and maintain a small group of people who covenant to support your ministry with prayerCommunicate regularly with ministry partnersBe a maturing disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ:

Seek Him and follow Him in every area of lifeGrow in love for God through the classic disciplines of the Christian lifeModel the biblical lifestyleQUALIFICATIONS
