Job Description:
The Tactical Communications SW engineering group is looking to expand its team of audio SW engineers to work on a collection of modern tactical military radios for DoD and Allied market space. These radios can be either single or multi-channel and support multiple waveforms to include legacy narrowband as well as modern mobile ad-hoc networking waveforms. We are in need of an embedded SW engineer who can support the audio subsystem to include real-time programming, understanding of VOCODERs and VoIP.
Essential Functions:Member of an Agile Scrum team that develops SW for advanced tactical radio equipmentResponsible for research, design, and development of embedded software for software defined radio products. May involve both real-time and near real-time controls.Develops and conducts software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.Provides technical support to internal and external customers including factory software introduction support and manufacturing issue resolution.Executes software development process in a CMMI Level 3 environment.Must be able to obtain a US security clearanceQualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience debugging audio hardware setups including speaker, microphone, and common audio processing pipelinesKnowledge of industry speech codecs including MELP/MELPe, G.711 and AMR (GSM/NB)Familiarity with common audio formats such as WAV/PCMExperience providing guidance, coaching and training to other employeesExperience with C, C++ and object-oriented designExperience with networking specific audio protocols (RTP, VoIP), including familiarity with configuration of unicast and multicast to support these protocolsExperience implementing and debugging audio vocoder code to specificationExperience in embedded firmware development with bare-metal and RTOS environments
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $93,500 - $173,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
