If you are considering sending an application, make sure to hit the apply button below after reading through the entire description.GENERAL INFOThe School of Music is searching for an exceptional and dynamic individual to direct our aural skills program, and to offer additional undergraduate and graduate courses in areas of expertise. This will be a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with commensurate expectations of publication and professional activity and visibility.Anticipated date of appointment: July 1, 2025 (pending budgetary approval).JOB DESCRIPTIONDuties will involve supervising a four-semester aural skills sequence staffed by graduate assistants, including initial training and teaching model sections; teaching new aural skills courses at the advanced undergraduate and graduate levels, along with a theory pedagogy course open to graduate students in all programs at the School; and teaching other courses in the candidate’s field of interest and as needed by the department (potentially including the music theory core).QUALIFICATIONSProficiency in both fixed- and moveable-do solfège is necessary.
