is looking for a

Junior Graphic Designer

to join our team in Washington, D.C. The Junior Graphic Designer will partner with account, creative, and marketing teams to support the visual communication strategy of client organizations by assisting with the creation of high impact designs intended to engage and attract target audiences to join member organizations and attend events via digital and video media. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with multi-disciplinary design proficiency, and expertise in current design software.

Read the overview of this opportunity to understand what skills, including and relevant soft skills and software package proficiencies, are required.What You Will Do:Develop creative assets for assigned clients, including but not limited to, theme designs, logos, videos, social media and email images, websites, event programs and promotional materials, onsite signage, print and electronic publications, mobile applications, digital ads, interactive campaigns, infographics, and other solutions.Develop, design, and/or edit presentations in PowerPoint using company or client brand guidelines.Design and edit new business proposals in InDesign.Collaborate with multiple teams across 360 Live Media and Smithbucklin to transform ideas into designs that resonate with the target audience.Incorporate relevant branding, marketing, and communication strategies in designs.Obtain input from project leads to ensure that designs meet organizational standards and client expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the client or company appropriately.Complete assigned design projects on time and to the proper specifications.You will be encouraged to explore and share new knowledge about trends, tools, and techniques in print and digital graphic design.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution with a concentration in Graphic Design or related field, or equivalent experience.1 - 2 years of relevant professional experience, including hands-on experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.Portfolio of high-quality professional or academic work and project samples.Mastery of foundational design concepts and visual principles.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma and willing to learn new technologies and design software as applicable.Familiarity with branding and marketing with the ability to find the right style and layout for every project.Ability to think critically, work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and produce work within deadlines.Ability to design according to creative direction in a wide variety of styles and the ability to listen, adapt and incorporate feedback.Passion to thrive in a fast-paced environment and produce award-winning work for clients.Photography and videography skills are not required but preferred.When applying please include a portfolio with your resume, thank you!Equal Employment OpportunityAt Smithbucklin, Equal Employment Opportunity is our commitment and goal.
