Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality or Resort Management, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or three (3) years of work experience in the hospitality industry.

Five years of relevant work experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Communications & Marketing Director (CMD) is part of the Quail Creek Country Club (QCCC) leadership team and has primary responsibility for developing marketing strategies (print, television and web-based) to attract new Members. The CMD is responsible for all internal and external communications for the Club, overseeing the design, publishing, printing and/or electronic distribution of Club communications.

In addition to being aware of Club Members' concerns and expectations, the CMD – in partnership with the QCCC leadership team -- is expected to develop strategies and tactics to promote and develop QCCC's brand profile and extend its reach to the widest constituency possible.

This position requires innovative spirit and drive, highly developed interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong organizational skills. The CMD should be adept at simultaneously managing multiple projects and tasks, with strong attention to detail.

The CMD should be a team player, working in collaboration with the leadership team, the Board and Club Committees. Partnership with the Membership Director is particularly critical.

Job Tasks/Duties

External Communications, Marketing and Public Relations

In partnership with the Membership Director, identify markets to be canvassed for qualified individuals and develop both traditional and digital programs for these markets.

Develop marketing campaigns (print, television and web-based) for attracting new Members, including follow-up analysis of these marketing initiatives.

Create, edit and produce the quarterly Club publication,

Quail Trails,

which is used as a marketing tool.

Design and produce collateral material for marketing initiatives, including an analysis of the effectiveness of these materials.

Manage QCCC’s Public Website, including development and updating of the website to ensure that marketing objectives are met while ensuring the integrity and timeliness of the content.

Develop on-line targeted marketing campaigns using Google Adwords and other similar programs. An understanding of internet marketing is critical.

Supervise and coordinate Club public relations efforts with local news media outlets.

Work with the Membership Director to maintain and update the “New Member Folder” of Club information and develop other Membership- and marketing-oriented collateral materials.

Member Communications

Serve as the gatekeeper and editor for all communications to Members, both print and digital.

Serve as the champion for the Club’s communications standards, including design, accuracy and appropriateness of content, as well as the elimination of typographic or grammatical errors. Maintain and update the Club Communications Handbook, which includes the QCCC style guide and glossary of terms.

In partnership with the Membership Director, develop creative programs to engage existing members in identifying prospects, understanding that Member referral is our best opportunity for new Members.

Manage the QCCC Member Website, including content, navigation and updating, ensuring the content is accessible on computers, notebooks and smart phones.

Create professional event posters to be displayed throughout the Club, aimed at driving attendance. (~330 annually)

Responsible for the quarterly publication

Quail Trails

and the weekly

e-Minder .

Create and post email flashes, blasts and blogs for the Club.

Update and maintain the Club calendar.

Update and maintain the Membership directories, including WGA, MGA and Lady Niners.

Update and maintain Tennis, Golf and Fitness brochures.

Develop Food and Beverage posters, menus and table tents.

Develop Membership-related posters, invitations, name tags, menus, Membership Guide.

Develop Golf posters, association handbooks, maps, coupons, brochures, invitations for golf, reciprocal club listing and general information.

Maintain Club’s Member bulletin boards.

Prepare, manage and compile results of surveys as requested by GM/COO and Communications Committee.

Educate and assist Members with club website navigation and password resets for both MAC and PC.

Effectively respond to Member comments in accordance with Club standards and policies. Report on ideas, feedback and suggestions to QCCC’s leadership team to enable us to continuously improve the services provided to Members.

Contribute to Member satisfaction through personal interaction. Instill confidence that the Club is operated in the best interests of the Membership.

Board/Committee Support

Serve on the Club Membership & Marketing Committee to assure Members’ interests are consistently addressed. Provide notices and agenda for and maintain minutes of the Committee.

Serve on the Club Communications Committee.

Compile and disseminate monthly Board packet.

General

Must be thoroughly acquainted with all Club Standards and Bylaws, as well as all Club operations.

Develop and adhere to a department budget. After budget approval, monitor and take corrective action as necessary to help assure that budget goals are attained.

Show discretion and keep Club and member information proprietary.

Complete other special projects as assigned by the Managing Director.
