Technical Director
for our station’s live newscasts. Technical Directors have knowledge of broadcast operations and production activities. You will work together with directors and producers in planning newscasts and overseeing the crew on Newscast pre-production activities. You will report to the Production Manager.ResponsibilitiesOversee the visual direction of newscastsProvide creative input and work with the newscast producer and production crewResponsible for clean technical execution of the look of the newscastCall and punch live weather coverage and breaking news when neededRequirements2+ years of experience working as a technical director at a commercial television stationAbility to manage the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast productionWillingness to work evenings, vacations, and holidays as neededReliable transportationExperience with Sony Production Switchers desiredExperience with ENPS, VIZ RT graphics, and Bitcentral video playback will be helpfulRelated military experience will be consideredDiversity StatementAt Hearst Television we tell stories every day.
