Find out exactly what skills, experience, and qualifications you will need to succeed in this role before applying below.Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG), a rapidly growing management and social sciences consulting firm based in Bethesda, MD, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Writer/Editor with experience writing about the victim services field. This position will entail developing written materials and assisting with editing materials in a fast-paced environment, including reports, resource guides, toolkits, proposals, developing and editing presentations for C-Suite executives, talking points, articles and social media posts, and other public-facing documents for the Department of Justice. You will work with cross-collaborative teams to ensure deliverables are on time and of the highest quality. You must be familiar with the U.S. Government Publishing Office Style Manual and Associated Press Stylebook.This role requires a minimum onsite at least once a week.MSG is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. While all applications are appreciated, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.Job Responsibilities/Duties:Write and edit content for a range of materials including resource guides, toolkits, articles, brochures, social media, web postings, blogs, training materials, newsletters, client and public reports, podcasts, workshops and meetings, and other media and channels as needed.Experience writing and editing speeches, talking points, remarks, Q&A for political figures and C-suite executives.Collaborate with subject matter experts across client teams and federal offices to conduct interviews, attend workshops and presentations, and attend staff meetings.Draft, review and revise content into actionable and accessible resources and materials using plain language, sensitive word choices, person-first language, and client preferences.Integrate input from subject matter experts, clients, and federal leaders on draft materials. Use sound judgment and consult with project leadership to resolve conflicting input.Work independently and collaboratively with content, design and production teams. Respond to assignments in a timely manner, adhere to project timelines, and participate in cross-team collaboration for multiple projects with competing deadlines.Create, maintain, and adhere to client-specific style guides.Detail-oriented and proactive with a mindset for innovation and a willingness to learn new methods and accept constructive feedback with grace and enthusiasm. Use good judgment and take initiative.Strong communication, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.Ability to build and maintain relationships with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Cultural sensitivity and equity representation in products is mandatory.Qualifications:U.S. citizen or authorized to work for employer.Clearance process. Be available to go through the personnel security clearance process prior to beginning work.Onsite support. Be available to work onsite at the client's facility within the DC metro area, as needed.Experience writing and editing research and analytic reports, a plus.Federal Client experience. Previous work with U.S. Department of Justice, Education, Labor, Health and Human Services, Agriculture, or Homeland Security, a plus.BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and experience in English or related field. If no degree, a combination of experience and education may be substituted upon supervisor's approval, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in editing.Work efficiently in a remote setting and adapt to working with peers across multiple time zones.
