This role involves collaborating with experts to distill essential information on Navy technologies into clear documentation. It includes creating and maintaining technical documents and developing new documentation as needed. The position also entails reviewing documentation for accuracy and consistency, gathering feedback for continuous improvement, and staying informed on industry trends and relevant policies to ensure adherence to security and classification protocols. You will assist in the overall goal of the program to develop an agile, flexible, and responsive workforce focused on being a proficiency-based learning organization with a solid foundation of shipyard departmental expertise and innovative technical, business, and interpersonal approaches.

Pay:

$50-60k

Hybrid schedule reporting to Washington D.C. Navy Yard

Major Duties/Tasks:

Work closely with subject matter experts to comprehend Navy technologies and methodologies, distilling crucial information into clear and accessible documentation.

Produce and maintain technical documents, including user guides, API documentation, release notes, and knowledge base articles.

Assess technical documentation from external vendors for consistency, accuracy, and alignment of program standards.

Collect feedback from users and internal stakeholders to enhance quality and usability of documentation continuously.

Ensure all documentation adheres to strict security, classification, and public release protocols to maintain proper handling and marking of documents.

Required Experience:

Associate’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism or related field and 1+ year of experience.

Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

Proficient in documenting technical concepts for an array of stakeholders and customers.

Keen eye for detail and adept at translating technical terminology into straightforward and precise documentation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Employ technical knowledge to research, document, and present detailed information such as guides, manuals, white papers, templates, journals, and articles.

Required Clearance:

Active secret clearance required.
