SUMMARY

Responsible for designing, planning, and implementing furniture layouts and configurations that support organizational needs during client transition periods. This role ensures that workspaces are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and optimized for efficiency, while addressing the evolving requirements of business environments. The designer will collaborate with clients, project managers, and installation teams to execute furniture-related changes in offices and other related environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Create and manage strong relationships with clients on assigned accounts and maintain the highest standard of customer satisfaction. Provide prompt and effective follow-up on assigned projects.Develop creative and functional furniture layouts that accommodate the changes required for MAC (moves, adds and changes) projects.Ensure that furniture designs meet ergonomic standards, workflow efficiency, and client-specific requirements.Adapt existing furniture designs to new spaces or reconfigure layouts based on organizational needs, space constraints, and employee preferences.Collaborate with project managers to plan and execute furniture moves, adds, and changes in a timely and cost-effective manner.Assess current furniture setups and provide recommendations for necessary modifications and/or improvements.Coordinate with vendors, installers, and facilities teams to manage the logistics of furniture moves and installations.Track and document all changes to ensure accurate records of furniture layouts, inventories, and configurations.Assume responsibility for overall completion of design and design related tasks for assigned projects.Generate accurate scope of project based on customer expectations and requirements.Develop furniture block plans, space plans, fabric / finish palettes, final furniture specifications and installation drawings. Ensure that furniture plans are code compliant.Provide customer facing live design as needed to create visualization of solution using design software. Obtain client sign-off of final solution plans, 3D's, finishes & specifications.Perform field measures, product inventory, programming, specification verifications, ancillary product research, etc. and frequently participate in project meetings with sales staff and/or clients.Enter design time worked into internal database by project daily.May conduct post-occupancy evaluation / punch list walk-through along with project manager, if one has been assigned, to ensure timely resolution of any identified issues or problems.Maintain a current working knowledge of developments in the industry and related products, applications, and design concepts. Inform assigned clients on all new products and trends.Consistently devote time to personal and professional development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no permanent supervisory responsibilities, but duties require the Account Manager to temporarily direct and coordinate the actions of several different supporting positions within the project team as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, architectural or interior design school. Three to five years related experience and/or training (such as architecture or interior design) may be substituted for some experience or formal education requirements. Working knowledge of furniture systems and electrical / cabling issues essential. General understanding of building systems and building codes essential. Demonstrated ability to use AutoCAD, CAP, rendering software, and Microsoft Office Suite to logistically plan all phases of the project cycle essential. Ability to perform live digital design with customer as needed for project development. Understands the importance of being customer focused, always acting with customers in mind and dedicated to meeting the customers' expectations, adjusting the strategy as needed. Successfully manages multiple and competing projects.
