Position Summary:

The Director of Marketing works closely with the Chief Communication and Marketing Officer (CCMO) to develop and execute the communications and marketing strategy and assist with day-to-day operations of the department. This includes building strategic marketing and advertising plans through relationships with current and potential advertisers and sponsors, managing the organization's sponsorships, developing content for the organization's website, and providing project management for consolidated earned, owned, shared and paid media plans in support of organizational events and projects. The director ensures all external and internal communications and messaging is consistent, directly related to the mission of United Way of Tarrant County and aligned with organizational goals and objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct reports; may oversee the work of departmental employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Integrated Marketing

Serves as brand ambassador, ensuring proper use of logos and UWTC identifiersManages, develops and distributes creative and interactive materialsPartners with other members of the department in the development and execution of various integrated marketing campaigns (broadcast, print, online, email, social media, etc.)Plans and implements event promotion campaigns, including brainstorming of new ideasCreates executive-level PowerPoint presentationsDrafts, edits and reviews press releases, blog posts and collateral materialSupports media relations activities, as needed

Website Communications

Manages and publishes daily/weekly updates to content through content management system (CMS) and creating content for a variety of digital platformsLooks for new opportunities to expand functionality of website/CMS to increase fundraising capabilitiesIntegrates forms and other process automation within website, coordinating with other departments as needed

Advertising

Identifies new opportunities for advertising and sponsorshipsDevelops the annual advertising and sponsorship plan for CCMO approvalIn coordination with CCMO, manages the UWTC advertising and sponsorship budgetsCreates advertisements, ensuring they are reviewed and submitted on schedule

Other

Assists in developing the communications and marketing strategy in alignment with organizational priorities and goalsFosters close working relationships within the team and other departments in the organizationDevelops reports and analytics as needed or requested to measure ROI of projectsWorks with staff to handle crises and sensitive issuesTakes on additional projects as assignedServes as deputy to CCMO

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must be eligible to work in the United States (no sponsorship)Strong acumen to take concepts and determine the best way to translate their use across earned, owned, shared and paid media campaignsProactive, self-motivated project manager with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslySkilled at writing and editing for a variety of audiences via numerous marketing platforms. Knowledge of AP style a plusExperience working with print shops, including paper selection and press checksCurrent on trends on evolving and advancing technologies as they relate to development and fundraising marketing and communicationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate internally and externally with all management levelsAbility to accept creative direction, constructive criticism and guidance, while offering alternative design solutions to solve problemsAdept with Microsoft Office Product Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Understanding of basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) conceptsExperience working in website CMSExpertise in HTML, Drupal CMS, CSS, Canva and most Adobe Creative Cloud applications (PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, etc.), a plus

Experience/Educational Requirements:

Bachelor level degree required, preferably in marketing, advertising or communicationsA minimum 8 years of demonstrated marketing experience, non-profit focus preferred

Additional Requirements:

Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportationMust occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Work Schedule:

Normal work hours: Monday-FridayMay require some evenings and weekends

The individual must reside primarily in North Texas with the ability to work from the office or other required location daily if needed.
