Part-Time Solar Designer

based at our

San Diego location

Compensation: $25 to $35/DOE

Job Duties:

Create overlay and send to customer for approvalDesign and review construction documents for solar plan setProduce PV/ Energy Storage System designs for residential rooftop, ground mounts and commercial projectsPerform ampacity, voltage drop, conduit fill, load calculations, string sizing and other preliminary engineering calculationsCoordinate with project coordinators to ensure smooth flow of all information necessary for a project designCommunicate with operations staff about preliminary and final designSelf-proofing work to ensure accuracy before allowing any project to continue through pipelineCreate a material list for accurate counts when warehouse tech orders materialWork with local permitting jurisdictions to assure our designs meet their standard requirementsCall cities for application process, cost, jurisdiction accuracy and status updatesCreate timelines for accurate project planningUpload approved plans and job card to CRM notify operations staffCreate weekly reports of projects designed and permittedWork with HOAs preparing all documentation to ensure we meet their requirements for approval

Qualifications:Experience with solar residential and commercial designFull knowledge of 2024 NEC building codesAssociate or Bachelor's degree in drafting, designing or engineering preferred, not required
