Summary

We're looking to bring on an individual contributor who is willing to learn, collaborate, and contribute to the execution of camera and security experiences for the mobile app, camera hardware, and the in-home panel.

Top responsibilities

Contributing to discovery and research efforts. A successful UX designer contributes to discovery by listening in on user interviews, creating testable prototypes, and partnering with PMs and senior designers to uncover problems.

Going wide on ideation and narrowing to valuable solutions via testing and iteration. After identifying which problems to solve, a successful UX designer will ideate and iterate quickly... narrowing on highly effective and proven solutions via robust testing.

Contributing to the design of end-to-end product experiences on the Protect team. You will be responsible for being proactive and collaborating with senior UX partners to design and execute outdoor security experiences for the Protect team.

Collaborates and communicates with their extended product development team. You are expected to find opportunities to collaborate and communicate with team members in engineering, product, and QA to define, design, build, test, deploy, and maintain products that balance user value, business value, and technical feasibility.

Designing within the Vivint Design Library.

Contributing to and maintaining the Vivint Design Library.

Designing for accessibility needs.

Proactively surfacing issues that could impact timelines or user experience.

Design compelling experiences that will excite everyone who comes in contact with them.

Organizing, labeling, and structuring your files in a way that is understandable to others... allowing them to find move through and comprehend the information you’re sharing.

Creating prototypes.

Creating robust handoff documentation for engineering via our standardized handoff process

Working with engineers during and after the development of your products to ensure that the design intent is achieved.

Testing developed experiences in your own home...reporting bugs and giving feedback.

Previous experience/qualifications

Knowledgeable in a broad range of design methodologies.

An attractive portfolio demonstrating a thoughtful design process that clearly shows your ability to design pleasant and functional end-to-end experiences.

A passion for design with a high attention to detail.

Experience with product discovery and research.

Excellent visual design skills.

Experience at all stages of the design process - making wireframes, building prototypes, and crafting high-fidelity visual designs.

Experience with hardware is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
