The Marketing 1LOD team's focus is enhancing the 1LOD framework for the Marketing organization on behalf of the CMO. This is a new and growing team, with lots of opportunity to "run after problems" and define the future of the function. As this is a new team, this person will help scope the role and ideally be a self-starter who will influence change within Marketing.The role will be responsible for working with Marketing partners to understand, identify and resolve open issues. This person will assist with quality assurance (QA) testing and review processes to validate successful execution. This person will also be responsible for creating and delivering reports to ensure full awareness across the business. The Marketing 1LOD Specialist will support various marketing teams and help identify common or disparate issues. The role will provide support with new vendor onboarding, supplier management, and other similar areas. The candidate will help monitor and mitigate risks/issues and efficiently coordinate resolutions with an eye on building durable systems for the future. The Marketing 1LOD Specialist will perform testing to confirm documented controls are working as designed. This person will support the company's three lines of defense program, work with Marketing, Compliance and Internal Audit to help build SoFi's first line of defense program (1LOD) within the Marketing organization.Additionally, this role will promote risk awareness and the overall effectiveness of the risk program across SoFi in line with Business and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) goals and processes.The candidate should have experience in financial services and preferably marketing or first line of defense. This candidate will report to the Senior Manager of Marketing Business Operations and Risk.What you'll do:The Marketing 1LOD Specialist will create and maintain adequate testing support documentation such as workpapers, testing reports, etc. to support the results of reviews including the write-up of findings for reporting.The Marketing 1LOD Specialist will build on Marketing's SOP inventory and establish a searchable, organized repository to house all Marketing documentation, SOPs and forms.The Marketing 1LOD Specialist will be responsible for working with Marketing partners to understand, identify and resolve open issues.Evaluate control testing documentation, reports, data, etc. and determine compliance with policies and procedures.Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, risk, audit, compliance, business controls) to execute against any new or emerging action itemsBuild data-driven tracking and reporting for testing initiatives, SLAs, etcThe Marketing 1LOD Specialist will support the Senior Manager, Marketing Business Operations and Risk and work with cross-functional teams to help identify common and disparate control issues.Advise management of any recurring testing failures to ensure prompt corrective actions.They will also help establish workflows/processes to support the marketing organization to drive consistent execution of marketing campaigns and activities.Additionally, the role will promote risk awareness as set forth by the Enterprise Risk Management organization.Partner with Marketing leadership, Compliance and Internal Audit to ensure we are continuously improving.Partner and collaborate across business units to facilitate and report on issues arising from Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSAs)

What you'll need:A passion for SoFi's mission of helping people Get Their Money Right to achieve their financial ambitionsA self-starter mind-set and a 'run after problems' mentalityMinimum 3-5 years of experience in marketing or risk management in a financial services and/or banking operating environment; specifically managing first line of defense risks, controls and issue management.Understanding of marketing practices and experience with quality assurance testing.Demonstrated initiative to identify problems that need to be addressed and prioritized.Results oriented and strong attention to detailAbility to balance multiple critical priorities simultaneouslyExperience with risk data, reporting and analysis; including GRC systemsExperience in highly-matrixed, fast-paced environmentsStrong communication skills and ability to present learnings with internal teamsProficient in Google suite (sheets, slides, docs, drive) and Slack; ability to learn new tools & software quicklyA Bachelor's Degree or 4 years or relevant experience in lieu of a degree

Compensation and BenefitsThe base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
