Producer/Announcer . This exciting hybrid position allows you to work both as producer supporting our local broadcast shows and podcasts, and as an announcer. As an announcer, you will work on all aspects of live or automated board shifts - including combo board operation and newscasting. And as a producer, you’ll produce digital and broadcast audio content for KUOW local programs. BASIC FUNCTION Perform all aspects of live or automated board shift including combo board operation, announcing and newscasting. Produce digital and broadcast audio content for KUOW local programs and provide back up production support for other content teams as assigned.

JOB DUTIES

Provide production work for talk shows or other programs as assigned, including research, pre-interviews, script writing and mixes; may pitch segment ideas based on KUOW editorial priorities.Produce, plan, write, edit and voice break content during shift both live and automated.Provide technical and production support tasks as assigned, including board operation, post-production and publishing across platforms / software (broadcast, podcast, CMS).Develop and write online posts and produce broadcast excerpts of program content.Monitor system and KUOW communications and news wires to provide programming updates.Assist with Public Radio Program Distribution system using Content Depot, PRX, in conjunction with Zetta and NewsBoss.Other duties as assigned:

Backs up other shifts as needed.Perform other occasional on-air work including on-air fundraising.

Requirements include:

Bachelor's degree and one year of professional broadcast journalism experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.Requires knowledge of professional broadcast and journalistic standards and practices.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
