Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional duties.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare all documents required to close mortgage loans, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate. Follow up with any discrepancies.Ensure that all loans meet guidelines for quality and regulatory compliance and investor closing standards are met.Maintain communication with customers, departments, closing agents, realtors, and builders to promote positive business relations and relate loan status.Complete disbursement procedures for issuing funds to attorneys/title companies, any necessary refund checks, and release of escrow monies withheld.Prepare and explain closing requirements to closing agent and/or customer.Protect collateral by reviewing and analyzing title work to verify that all liens are clear.Review and verify executed closing packages to ensure all documents are signed appropriately and all fees are included with the package.Follow up on deficiency requests by Shipping to ensure timely procedures for loan funding.Maintain knowledge of all mortgage and compliance policies and procedures.Follow applicable state & federal laws and regulations.Comply with company, FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and industry standard rules and guidelines.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent.ExperienceTwo years of experience closing conventional and government loans.Related military education/experience may be used as a substitute for education or work experience.Knowledge & Communication SkillsAbility to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to comprehend, analyze, and effectively communicate business memorandums, technical procedures, and government regulations.Commitment to excellence and high standards. Acute attention to detail.Thorough working knowledge of real estate documentation, policies, compliance, and procedures.Works with integrity and ethically.Analytical & Decision Making SkillsSelf-directed, able to work independently without supervision, and able to prioritize multiple projects to meet firm deadlines.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.Ability to work under pressure.
