Take the next step in your career now, scroll down to read the full role description and make your application.Acting as a Core Account Officer in the Japanese Corporate Banking Team in Atlanta, covering 8 states in the Southeast region.Maintaining and servicing the existing portfolio including KYC operations as the First Line of Defense.Proactively maintaining and servicing the existing portfolio as a Corporate Banking Marketing Officer, developing banking business with existing and new customers by identifying transaction opportunities, marketing each product to identified clients, negotiating terms and conditions, and ensuring successful transactions.Acting as a liaison between all stakeholders within the bank, including the Primary Office in Japan.Developing banking business with existing and new customers as a member of the Corporate Banking Department within the Japanese Corporate Banking group.This position is responsible for generating significant revenue by actively managing business development opportunities and overseeing ongoing monitoring of client portfolio performance to maximize penetration and return while working closely with related departments. This position will develop, implement, and maintain deposit, cash management services, loans, forex, derivatives, and cross-sell products for corporate customers.Responsibilities:Develop new business, underwriting, structuring, and closing commercial loans while maintaining and servicing the existing portfolio. Represent the Bank in the targeted business community through active participation in community affairs and ensure the marketing of all of the Bank’s products and services.Engage with customers to maintain relationships and accounts, understand customers’ businesses, and develop new business such as commercial loans, deposits, transaction banking, foreign exchange, and derivatives. Negotiate terms and conditions to maximize profitability and minimize risk.Negotiate terms, structure loan financing based on risk considerations, and present credits for approval to appropriate levels of authority within the Bank as required. Support the Bank’s strong relationship banking culture through ongoing customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge.Operate as a key member of the deal team, leading the preparation of lending proposals and pitches to prospective clients to maximize sector penetration and returns while delivering activities to institute cross-selling initiatives to clients across all areas of the Firm.Act as a liaison to the Japanese Corporate Banking Department and Product Offices in NY, Head Office in Tokyo, and other branches/affiliates globally to develop new business and drive bank-wide projects, especially in foreign correspondent banking business.Perform all duties related to compliance matters as required by management and ensure adherence to all bank policies and procedures relative to Regulatory Compliance.Perform and coordinate other key initiatives and projects as assigned by the Department Head or Senior Relationship Managers.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance/Economics or equivalent work experience required; MBA / CFA preferred. Minimum 2 years of professional experience; banking experience in the U.S. and international marketplace is required.Strong interpersonal skills and financial aptitude with broad analytical ability.Excellent oral and written communication skills, including business writing, editing, and proofreading skills.Knowledge of domestic and foreign financial markets and products, including nonbanking financial institutions.Must read, write, and speak Japanese and English at the business level.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
