UI/UX Designer – Design Systems Founded in 1999 in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, Cadre5 provides innovative technical solutions to our customers locally and nationally. Our Cadre5 Lab Partners division has partnered with the Information Technology Services Directorate (ITSD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to recruit a qualified UI/UX Designer with experience creating design systems and UI frameworks. This person will need to be able to lead daily activities as the team starts the design system initiative until a full-time design lead is hired.

Technical designer with design systems experienceStrong proficiencies in Figma and working with JS, CSS, and HTML.Familiarity / experience with frameworks such as Storybook or Svelte a huge bonusCapable of helping our UX team architect, design, and build out our design system in Figma and collaborate with our developers to inform a codebase (may be Storybook or Svelte) but integrate with Vue, React, Drupal, or WordPress.The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance is required.
