USD 100,000 - 160,000The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs’ corporate strategy, and in preserving the firm’s distinctive culture. We also partner with the businesses to source high-impact opportunities in line with the firm’s social and sustainability agendas.About Goldman Sachs Global MarketingLed by the firm’s first Chief Marketing Officer, the Global Marketing function at Goldman Sachs is a unified horizontal organization, having come together to codify a business-critical function seen as core to delivering value and growth for the firm. The organization consists of a number of core COEs (sitting centrally in the Executive Office) in areas such as Brand Marketing and Content, as well as integrated marketing groups sitting in each of our key revenue businesses. Together, this team collaborates on a scaled and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings.Role SummaryThis Associate will play a key role on the COO team, with primary responsibilities for function-wide communications, culture-related programming, and general business planning spanning strategy and budget management. The role will work closely with marketing leadership in crafting regular internal communications, scripting talking points for panels and internal town halls, and other presentations. This will require liaising with colleagues across the marketing organization to ensure communications connect the strategic threads and commercial priorities across the firm, and communicate key wins, progress, and measurement against the function’s goals.This role will be most successfully played by someone who is:An adaptable and rangy professional, with related chief of staff / COO team functional experience, adept at tackling a range of tasks in any given dayA strong writer and communicator, with a curious mindset for locating and understanding the best case studies and “stories” from around Global MarketingA proactive and flexible thinker, able to anticipate senior stakeholder needsA team player with strong interpersonal skills and positive energy who wants to help set the tone and culture for a firmwide functionA detail-oriented colleague, who values the importance of operational excellence and thoughtful process, and is eager to contribute to the running of a complex, firmwide organizationKey ResponsibilitiesWrite weekly internal memos and other communications in close collaboration with senior marketing leadersPartner across Global Marketing to coordinate briefers and talking points for internal events, presentations, senior-level meetings, and functional communicationsUnderstand the firm’s divisions and marketing’s major initiatives, including the firm’s commercial impact and strategy, in order to draft effective and strategic copy and other contentDevelop and implement improved processes for marketing communications and culture programming, with an aim to increase efficiency, quality, and timelinessContribute to the forward strategy for the marketing communications and culture programming portfolio as a whole, shaping and leading projects focused on making Global Marketing a great place to workWork as an integrated member of the marketing COO team, plugging into strategic and operations projects (e.g. case studies, metrics dashboard, annual strategy setting) as well as special projects and FW initiatives that fall within the wide-ranging remit of the COO teamRequired Qualifications3-5+ years of relevant experience in chief of staff/COO teams; and/or internal communications, executive communications, or management and strategyAn understanding of marketing as a function and industry, and/or experience in financial services as a sectorStrong editorial judgment, writing skills and ultra-high attention to detailCreative mindset, intellectually curious and ability to connect the dots strategically to illuminate the firm’s thinking in accessible, clever waysUnderstanding of fundamental financial services business terms and acumenExcellent project management and organizational skillsAbility to thrive in a dynamic, demanding, fast-paced environmentKnowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint[Preferred but not required] Undergraduate degree in liberal arts/English/writing or communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies, business and/or related fieldsAbout Goldman SachsAt Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
