The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.Overview:The Head of Marketing and Sales will report directly to the CEO. This high-visibility, hands-on position is responsible for building a scalable Marketing and Sales organization. This includes directing the planning and execution of a fully integrated commercial business plan encompassing marketing, sales, market planning, brand management, and market research in addition to providing overall leadership and direction to the Noven Marketing and Sales team. Develop and evolve marketing strategies and tactical plans to optimize the market and financial performance of the product. Work effectively with sales force leadership to implement HCP promotion activities and materials through field-based sales representatives and “inside” sales representatives, including management of physician samples. This role is at the executive level and will require on occasion evening attendance at Noven’s Board meeting.
This position has an important cross-functional impact and frequent interaction and collaboration with other Noven Executives and key business partners including the head of Market Access and Trade to ensure that access strategies and tactics are aligned to the overall brand strategy. Ensure that reimbursement outlook is reflected in brand forecasts, and in the design of reimbursement support programs. Lead the relationship with the advertising agency to ensure that sound strategies and promotional campaigns are developed, and that budgets are managed effectively. Lead the patient/caregiver marketing programs, including the design and management of benefit verification and other patient support program elements, as well as any promotion via social media. In addition, work with Business Analysis and Finance to develop financial plans and manage budgets for the areas of direct responsibility. This role is the primary leader for marketing strategy and execution for this launch product, including promotion to health care professionals (HCP) and to patients/caregivers. This role will also manage Daytrana, Secuado and any ADHD “portfolio” strategies and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Define and execute the company’s overall Marketing plan, strategies, and tactics for established products, pipeline products, new product introductions, and other growth opportunities.
Execute strategic commercialization activities including tactical programs to maintain market share and strategic programs to increase share for marketed and new product launches.
Define the company’s Sales strategies and tactics for established products and new product introductions. Provide directions to CSO as Noven’s main contact.
Will need to reach the revenue goal for Noven’s product of $50M by 2029.
Develop and implement strategic marketing plans. This will include analyzing market trends, providing input into and ensuring consistency with Brand positioning; integrating strategic objectives to build on customer strategies; setting TRx and financial targets.
Develop and execute Marketing and Sales Tactics to target audiences, including HCPs, Consumers, and Payers (in close collaboration with Managed Markets).
Direct strategic business planning for Noven by utilizing extensive market research, business analysis, and broad knowledge of factors influencing the industry.
Identify, test, and implement innovative initiatives.
Determine the appropriate allocation of sales and marketing resources by projecting ROI for tactical programs and field force investment.
Provide information regularly to senior Management regarding performance of the businesses, critical issues potentially impeding achievement of goals.
Provide leadership and direction to marketing staff by building and fostering team relationships among departmental functional groups. Develop staff and improve/maintain processes to ensure marketing is a company core competency.
Consult with R&D and Clinical groups as protocols are being developed to assure that appropriate marketing and commercial considerations are built in.
Aid and work closely with Business Development in identifying and evaluating in-licensing and out-licensing opportunities.
Identify improvements in organizational structure and processes.
Qualifications:Competencies:

Education / Experience:
Master's degree with a minimum of 15 years or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 20 years professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry with at least 8 years in progressive marketing leadership positions. Experience in the ADHD market strongly desired.
Qualified candidates must have a solid understanding of the scientific aspects of pharmaceutical products and have demonstrated the ability to rapidly learn the medical and scientific knowledge required to be successful in new therapeutic areas including experience in ADHD.
Experience in leading the planning and executing marketing programs for product launch.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking skills.
Experience in managing a network of partners and vendors- must have the skills to work collaboratively with Ad Agency, Market Research firm, and other suppliers.
Experience with samples and sample distributions.
Capability in developing forecasts and financial plans at the brand level.
Experience in Sales Training and Sales Operations (experience with sales force deployment and targeting). Prior work should have involved preparing tactics for a salesforce, presenting to a salesforce, conducting sales training.
Able to lead a cross-functional team of sales, market access, finance, and medical affairs colleagues to create and execute broad strategies for the brand.
Capable of developing and delivering effective presentations to Executive and Board level colleagues.
Judgment / Decision Making:
