We’re looking for a User Experience Technical Artist to join our Innovation & Design team. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the design frameworks, style guides, user flows and prototypes within immersive simulation experiences. You will make informed decisions on the design direction of features and deliver elegant design concepts and guidelines, collaborating with engineering teams and user researchers to test workflows in immersive training experiences, ensuring quick feedback integration and alignment with user needs. You will operate in a fast-paced, agile environment with the opportunity to work on a variety of hardware devices and innovative technological solutions.ResponsibilitiesConceptualize and design innovative, intuitive, and engaging user interfaces for immersive VR/AR applications, ensuring experiences are user-centered and impactful.Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, Engineers & Researchers on development of interactive solutions, contributing expert insights on UX to the team's efforts.Utilize research and analytics methods for the evaluation of design concepts and product capabilities.Incorporate human-centered design principles throughout the design and assessment processes to create memorable and effective user experiences in VR/AR applications.Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies into immersive digital experiences, designs and concepts, using a human centered approach to set the bar higher for all our UX designs.Foster a collaborative design space that allows for experimentation and iteration on visual effects, art pipelines, and interaction patterns.Collaborate with internal and external partners to incorporate new insights on UX design in XR and Spatial Computing.Perform technical tasks as part of the art pipeline including material creation, UV/light mapping, LOD generation, and optimization passesLighting mobile environments in Unreal Engine 5Develop tools and research workflow improvements that aid the team with content creationModel and texture high-fidelity, optimized 3D game assets for use in mobile VR experiencesCreate basic in-game interactions and behaviors using Unreal Engine’s Blueprint visual scripting languageSkills

Prior experience conceptualizing, designing, and implementing real-time 3D art pipelines and visual effects for interactive software products, ideally within immersive technology or gaming applications.Expertise spanning the UX spectrum, including strategy, experience/interaction design, prototyping, and visual design, including shaders, lighting, real-time visual effects, asset optimization, procedural generation, and 3D gameplay integration.Demonstrable experience with Unreal Engine based games, applications and user flows.A passion for natural and innovative Human-Computer Interactions and emerging technologies.An appetite for learning and absorbing new technology and trends, with an ability to stay current with new and evolving technologies.The ability to use creative and analytical thinking to go beyond the obvious to find solutions.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Can work well with others, fostering healthy, productive relationships, while also demonstrating self-relianceQualifications

5+ years experience with UX, Design for Software Applications or Games.3+ years AR/VR/XR design experience3+ years with Unreal Engine’s Material Editor and/or Blueprint SystemExperience with Houdini is required as well as Maya, 3DS Max, or BlenderExperience with mobile game development and performance profilingExperience and interest in generative AI and procedural workflowsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Must be authorized to work in the U.S.We are interested in qualified candidates who are eligible to work in the United States.
