Is this your next job Read the full description below to find out, and do not hesitate to make an application.Thomaston First Methodist Church seeks a Youth and Communications Director responsible for leading our youth ministry and communication systems. With regard to youth ministry, he/she will be responsible for building authentic relationships with the youth, providing opportunities for them to grow as disciples of Jesus, and planning activities to connect with other youth in service and fun. With regard to communications, he/she will oversee the design and delivery of all core communications from TFMC: website, mass emails, bulletin, newsletter, and social media.Duties and Responsibilities: Youth Director
Plan and facilitate Sunday school and an evening youth meeting on a weekly basis, and special events and activities outside of the regular schedule.Maintain a presence in the lives of the youth beyond the walls of the church.Partner with the Youth Ministry Committee to recruit, train, and direct volunteers.Partner with the Youth Ministry Committee to plan a ministry calendar.Keep ministry participants (youth and parents) informed about events and activities.Coordinate with church committees to hold seasonal events.Maintain a budget for the youth ministry.Duties and Responsibilities: Communications Director
Manage and update the church website as needed.Oversee the design of all church communications:
Bulletins, newsletters, weekly emails, etc.
Provide and curate photos and posts for church social media accounts.Manage and update church social media accounts.Design and implement new communications systems as needed to help church members engage in ministry and grow as disciples at TFMC.Work with Senior Pastor to develop and maintain a communications calendar.Character and Skills
Passion for Jesus and His mission.Demonstrate integrity and an ability to keep confidence.Team player who is capable of training and serving with an adult volunteer team.Teachable and eager to be supported in leadership growth under the Senior Pastor.Able to communicate biblical truths and the Gospel with accuracy and authenticity.Background and aptitude in communications.
