This is an opportunity to join the high-performing team behind Amazon’s new generative AI-powered shopping assistant. Rufus makes it easy for customers to find and discover the best products to meet their unique needs by helping with product research, providing comparisons and recommendations, answering specific product questions, and more. This role is inherently high-visibility and highly cross-functional, requiring collaboration and influence across product, design, science, and engineering.

A successful candidate will thrive in ambiguity and care deeply about crafting short-form content that is clear, concise, and relatable. This person will have a knack for simplifying complex statements and revel in the opportunity to create and implement style and tone guidelines. Part writer and part editor, this person will train our AI models to deliver delightful conversational experiences through writing, editing, evaluation, and prompt engineering.

This role requires exceptional written and oral communication skills, excellent judgment, strong interpersonal skills, deep curiosity about how things work, and a passion for serving customers. You must enjoy context-switching and partnering at all levels of the organization to deliver results. Key job responsibilitiesWrite, edit, and annotate short-form content that will be used to train our AI models.Use prompt generation and Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF) to improve the fluency of our AI models.Uphold quality, style, and tone guidelines, while using customer feedback to continually improve our ability to be helpful and truthful.Work closely and collaboratively with product and tech stakeholders to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of writing and editing experienceBachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or comparable fieldsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
