The agency, through its programs and services, encourages the inclusion of people with disabilities into the mainstream of society, including social, recreational, family and work activities.This Public Relations (PR) position will be tasked with creating and maintaining a positive public identity for the agency. Duties include writing and publishing press releases, responding to media information requests, and monitoring public opinion using social media, surveys, or polls. This person will contribute to existing PR efforts while helping to develop new initiatives aligned with company objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience in a wide range of PR functions and positive relationships with media professionals in our industry and the community. This team member will be involved with building and maintaining government relations and communicating with local government officials.Travel is required for this position on occasion to other office locations in Massachusetts.Hybrid role: 2 days in Stoughton office and 3 days from home.Monday - Friday.Office core hours are 8:30am - 4:30pm.Essential FunctionsEstablishes and maintains cooperative relationships with consumers, community members, employees, local & state legislators, and public interest groups.Helps customers and the public understand what Tempus Unlimited offers.Writes press releases and prepares information for the media to promote Tempus Unlimited.Plans or directs the development of programs to maintain favorable public and stakeholder views of the organization’s agenda and accomplishments.Analyzes the organization’s objectives, promotional policies, and needs to build public relations strategies that influence public opinion and promote services and philosophy.Maintains the organization’s image and identity.Drafts speeches and schedules interviews.Prepares and edits organizational materials, including employee newsletters and other publications for internal and external audiences.Updates and maintains the organization’s digital content.Collaborates with managers to identify trends and evaluate advertising to determine whether it is in sync with the organization’s public relations efforts.Superior written and verbal communication skills.Familiarity with the latest PR trends and best practices.Knowledge of consumer marketing.Creative thinking.Inquisitive.Able to work independently.Able to work under pressure.Preferred ExperienceExtensive experience with various social media platforms.3+ years of experience working in the public relations field, preferably in the non-profit human services sector.Required EducationBA in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.Physical Demands
