Senior Integration Specialist - Unified Communications
who will support the 2026 Census Test Technical Integration Program.
The Mission:
• The Decennial Census plays a critical role in our nation's governance, informing congressional representation and guiding the allocation of $1.5 trillion in federal funding each year. In preparation for 2030, T-Rex is seeking highly skilled and motivated Integration Specialists to join the 2026 Census Test IT (26CT) Integration program.• The Decennial requires innovative, scalable IT solutions to support the count of every person living in the United States and its territories. Decennial systems must scale to process millions of daily responses, support the largest non-military workforce mobilization in the world (350k workers), and maintain the highest standards of data security and individual privacy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
As a
Senior Integration Specialist
on this program, you'll play a key role in laying the groundwork for the design and integration of the technology infrastructure that will underpin this high-profile mission. Integration Specialists are responsible for ensuring that all components of the 26CT systems work together seamlessly, efficiently, and securely. You'll develop and mature advanced systems that:
• Facilitate comprehensive data collection using cloud computing, mobile technology, and data analytics• Support nationwide field operations, enabling coverage of hard-to-reach populations• Improve government efficiency with the use of modern technologies that reduce complexity and drive right-size scaling to meet operational demands• The 26CT Integration program involves critical preparatory work for the 2030 Decennial Census. As a Senior Integration Specialist, you will be responsible for various aspects of planning, analyzing, and implementing innovative IT solutions that form the backbone of this national undertaking, including, but not limited to:• Designing and integrating mobile device solutions, field IT infrastructure, and identity management systems to support nationwide data collection• Developing and implementing an integrated operations center and help desk system to manage and monitor census operations in real-time• Conducting comprehensive gap analysis and risk assessments to ensure all systems meet operational requirements• Planning and executing rigorous testing to validate solution interoperability, scalability, and performance under realistic operational conditions• Collaborating closely with Census Bureau teams and stakeholders to align technical solutions with operational needs• Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation and solution architecture design recommendations and providing actionable insights to inform planning for the 2030 Census
Education, Experience & Certification Requirements:
• BA/BS with five (5) years experience leading projects focused on Unified Communications• US Citizenship with ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance, which involves a background investigation to determine suitability for access to sensitive data• Ability to use creative problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels• Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile and Scrum• Experience working in a government or public sector environment is a plus• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field desired• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Cisco, PMP) are a plus• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively• Passion for public service and a commitment to the mission of the Census Bureau
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
As a Senior Integration Specialist focused on Unified Communications, you will support the design, integration, and analysis of the communication systems that will enable 26CT workers to effectively communicate and collaborate across the nation.
• Extensive experience deploying and managing enterprise UC platforms like Cisco UCM, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and AWS Connect for 5k endpoints• Expertise in designing dial plans, IVR flows, and contact center workflows using industry standard tools• Proficient in integrating UC systems with enterprise directories, identity management, and ticketing systems• Knowledge of session border controllers, PSTN gateways, and E911 services for secure and compliant voice routing
Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands
• Basic office work environment at government facility location• Hours of operation are M-F during core business hours.• Occasionally, project requirements may require temporary adjustment of work hours/days• Duties are subject to change based on the needs of the customer
