You will strive to deepen understanding and empathy around end users' needs for our stakeholders including product managers, designers, and developers, and you will ensure that UX activities are a priority throughout the software development lifecycle. That's why we offer a flexible hybrid work model that allows you to collaborate with office colleagues on some days, and work from home on others.What will you do?As the UX Researcher, you are driven to put the user first in application and website development, and you will plan and deliver impactful studies that bring the voice of the user to life. You will use your broad expertise of user experience to determine research project approach; design and run research activities; analyze and interpret data; report results; and provide actionable recommendations to our business partners, application designers, and product teams. Specifically, you will:Scope, design, build, and conduct user research using methods such as: ethnographic field studies, participatory design sessions, site visits, focus groups, benchmark studies, usability studies and interviews, heuristic evaluations, persona and journey map developmentUnderstand and align user needs with business partner goals, requirements, technology, budget, and scheduleResearch and develop user scenarios to be used during the design and development processesWork closely within a multidisciplinary team, including product owners, software engineers and designersWork on moderately complex products/projectsWork with a variety of stakeholders to identify and track appropriate user experience and engagement metricsIdentify potential usability issues and design opportunitiesAnalyze user research qualitative and quantitative data, write reports, and communicate results to stakeholdersCompile relevant qualitative and quantitative data to include in presentations to explain findings, educate stakeholders, and offer actionable recommendationsAdvocate for the end user by influencing decisions to ensure that product and design decisions are aligned with user needs and expectationsAssist with providing guidance on accessibility best practices and conduct accessibility tests independently with minimum supervisionCollaborate and participate in user research team initiativesOther Duties:Keep up with research trends and best practices; develop industry knowledge and expertiseAcquire, maintain, and apply specific knowledge of relevant tools e.g., Optimal Workshop, MURAL, etc. supporting research effortsParticipate and contribute to UX communities of practiceMentor and share knowledge with team membersWhat do you need?Bachelor's in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Analysis, Information Systems, Anthropology, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or directly related work experienceTypically requires 2 or more years practicing human-centered design, UX research or testing demonstrated through case study examples and/or portfolioResearches and develops user scenarios to be used during the design and development processesConducts user research using methods such as: ethnographic field studies, participatory design sessions, site visits, focus groups, benchmark studies, usability studies, heuristic evaluations, persona and journey map development.Analyzes user research qualitative and quantitative data, writes reports, and communicates results to UX and Design teamEnsures solutions are accessible and intuitiveTracks UX metrics e.g., CSAT, SUS, NPS, SEQ, etc.Proficiency with one or more usability testing tools or servicesMust be a U.S. citizenDesired Skills:UX certificationQuantitative analysis tools such as R or PythonStrong structure/processes, and design methodologiesStrong verbal and written communication skillsDesign thinking certificationKnowledge of Section 508 and WCAG guidanceExperience with design systems research and metricsFamiliarity with Agile practicesBase Salary Range for UX Analyst: Min: $87,600 - Mid: $113,600 - Max: $139,900 (Location: San Francisco)
