PACCAR also designs and manufactures advanced diesel engines, provides financial services and information technology, and distributes truck parts related to its principal business.Requisition SummaryThe Service Diagnostics Technician/Technical Writer will work on a team responsible for developing repair instructional documentation, validating repair procedures, and developing standard repair times (SRT’s) to support new product implementations and sustaining product support. Content produced supports the Kenworth dealer network and improves serviceability of our product while reducing PACCAR’s long term warranty repair costs.The Technician/Technical Writer will manage multiple work requests while balancing competing priorities to complete assigned tasks. Additionally, they will identify opportunities for continuous improvement in day-to-day activities.Job Functions / ResponsibilitiesAuthor and maintain service/repair procedure instructions, technical information, and safety requirements.Perform/validate physical repair procedures on PACCAR products including powertrain (diesel, hydrogen, and battery electric fuel sources), cab structure/interiors, and chassis installed components.Create and maintain Standard Repair Times (SRT’s) required to support new project implementations and reduce long term warranty repair costs.Evaluate and support new product tooling development.Assist external departments (Dealer Training, Field Service, and Engineering) to identify optimized repair solutions.Communicate with PACCAR stakeholders to ensure repair times and procedures align with product requirements.Complete other assignments as requested by management.Qualifications & SkillsRequired:High school diploma /GEDMinimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience requiredSolid mechanical and electrical aptitude/experienceStrong organizational, schedule management, attention to detail and reporting skillsHigh level of initiative and demonstrated problem solvingStrong interpersonal skills (team player)Familiar with Microsoft Office SuiteDesired (not required):Diesel/Automotive Vocational/Technical school certification or Bachelors of Administration or Bachelors of Science degree in related fields (Engineering, Automotive, Business, etc.)Experience with electrical trouble shooting and on-board diagnostic systemsAutomotive/Class 8 truck dealership experience and/or manufacturing experience/product knowledgeExperience/working knowledge of HTML, XML publishingExperience working in a Content Management System (Ixiasoft, Empolis, etc.).Technical writing experienceWhy work for PACCAR/Kenworth?Global Fortune 500 Company with a wide array of growth and development opportunitiesWork alongside experienced goal-oriented colleagues recognized as experts in their fieldsSupport and/or design the commercial vehicles of the future with a focus on emerging technologies such as electric and autonomous trucksAs a U.S. PACCAR employee, you have a full range of benefit options including:401k with up to a 5% company matchFully funded pension plan that provides monthly benefits after retirementComprehensive paid time off – minimum of 10 paid vacation days (additional days are provided with additional seniority/years of service), 12 paid holidays, and sick timeTuition reimbursement for continued educationMedical, dental, and vision plans for you and your familyFlexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings account (HSA)Paid short-and long-term disability programsLife and accidental death and dismemberment insuranceEAP services include wellness plans, estate planning, financial counseling and moreAdditional Job Board InformationAt PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. The salary range for the Service Diagnostic Technician/Technical Writer is $75,100 - $112,300 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
