We are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to talk and hang out before, during, and after playing games.This position is US based only.We are seeking an experienced Account Executive to join as a founding member of the sales team for our new Advertising Solutions (Quests) business line. This role is perfect for someone passionate about the entertainment industry and eager to help companies in this space market to their most dedicated audiences.This is a global role where you will work in a dynamic, zero-to-one environment to build and grow a new, fast-expanding business line at Discord. You will harness your prior experience in advertising/media/marketing spaces and bring a combination of strategic business thinking, industry relationships, product insights, and an ability to build a significant, recurring book of business with clients.What You'll Be DoingIdentify and address clients' marketing needsDevelop tailored solutions and proposals that deliver value to entertainment industry clientsIn order to hit revenue and account goals, you will:
Prospect and source media buying opportunities with film studios, streaming platforms, television networks, and their media agenciesBuild and deepen relationships within the entertainment industry with stakeholders & key decision makers at the brand direct and agency levelsNegotiate and close deals to meet revenue and account goalsHelp clients achieve business and marketing goals using Discord’s solutions
Deploy effective and repeatable sales strategies. Apply an account planning process to prioritize accounts, grow revenue, educate clients, lead strategic client conversations, and navigate complex relationships.Create and convey compelling sales presentations and proposals utilizing internal and external data.Become an expert in Discord solutions and adapt recommendations to suit varying entertainment client needsConsult with clients and contribute to marketing and media plans that enable them to reach their target audiences on DiscordDemonstrate expertise around the gaming, media, and marketing spaces to clients, within Discord, and in industry forumsWhat you should have6+ years of experience as an Account Executive in direct ad sales, media buying, or digital advertising, with a focus on the entertainment industryProven track record of meeting or exceeding account and revenue goalsExperience in managing entertainment clients throughout the funnel with a deep understanding of their challenges and objectivesExperience in building relationships with top marketing decision-makers in the entertainment industry and their agenciesAbility to analyze data and identify insights to assess campaign performanceAbility to proactively troubleshoot and problem-solve quickly and through the proper escalation channelsExperience with marketing and ad technology ecosystem including ability to collect and convey product needs as well as working cross-functionally to diagnose and solve technical problems for clientsExperience in negotiating and structuring standard and non-standard ad-buying agreementsWillingness to travel for regional in-person client meetingsThe total annual target compensation range for this full-time position is $255,000 to $320,850 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
