Instrument & Controls System Designer

to collaborate with Lead Designers and other disciplines, ensuring seamless and innovative design systems. In this role, you’ll create comprehensive Instrument & Control System drawings, complete with detailed bill of materials, and make a significant impact on our cutting-edge projects.

What We’re Looking For:Experience : 5-10 years of industry experience in I&C design, particularly in refining, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and specialty chemical projects.Education : Higher education is preferred.Technical Skills : Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.Learning Mindset : A willingness to learn new software and continuously improve.Bonus Skills : Working knowledge of INTERGRAPH Smart Plant Instrumentation INtools Package is a plus.What You’ll Do:Design Mastery : Develop, design, and meticulously check control panels, control room layouts, location plan drawings, junction box layouts and loading, wiring connections, loop and logic diagrams, material take-offs, cable schedules, installation details, and supports.Precision Planning : Maintain the instrument index and review vendor documents to ensure everything aligns with standards, codes, and company policies.Tech Savvy : Utilize CAD to prepare layout and design drawings, applying practical design knowledge to bring concepts to life.Standards Guru : Interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards and codes, and contribute to the development of alternate design layouts when needed.Quality Assurance : Review and comment on supplier data, check all instrument deliverables, and ensure designs clearly depict the intended outcome.Safety First : Review constructability, operability, and safety in design, maintaining compliance with I&C design guides, standards, specifications, and procedures.Leadership Opportunities : Step into a Lead Designer role on smaller projects, taking responsibility for all aspects of detailed design.
