is seeking an experienced professional
Sr. Technical Writer
to work in
Laurel, MD
on a Prime contract. In this position, a successful candidate will be responsible for preparation, review, and maintenance of technical, strategic planning, and formal program-level acquisition documents through consultation with technical, program, and leadership personnel and other available resources.
Responsibilities:
Understand basic concepts (to include basic grammar concepts), responsible for writing technical copy of various types of documents.Assist in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides, manuals, and technical publications.Gather technical information and prepare written text.Maintain a current internal documentation library.Use multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.Prepare reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences.Work with technical leads to produce quality documentation.Coordinate layout and design of documents.Work with all phases of documentation.Apply concepts of technical writing based on engineering documents consultations with engineers and subject matter experts.Work independently preparing and maintaining highly complex program documentation.Provide expert oversight of technical writing and editing to all phases of acquisition and technical documentation for the Program.Qualifications:Eight years of experience as a Technical Writer in programs or contracts of similar scope. Bachelor’s degree in a similar discipline.Security Clearance:A current government clearance, background investigation, and polygraph are required.We are an equal opportunity employer.
