SCCI is seeking a motivated

Technical Writer II

for a fast-paced developmental Weapon System Program. This position consists of the development and/or editing of Systems Engineering documents, Test Procedures, and User and Training Guides. This position is available for immediate hire and located in

Dahlgren, VA .

Understand and relay technical information, such as system functionality, software troubleshooting, and interface designs through the editing and development of engineering and user documentation for operational communities.Learn the technical content of system upgrades and enhancements prior to delivery, including participating in software milestone meetings and obtaining information from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).Provide quality assurance, formatting, and editorial updates to a variety of document types, including User and Training Guides, Installation and Test Procedures, Memorandums, System Specifications, and Interface Design Documents.Work closely with Systems Engineers, Software Developers, and Test Personnel to ensure technical content and system upgrades are documented comprehensively and accurately, while adhering to Government formatting specifications.Coordinate with document authors and team members in drafting, reviewing, and publishing technical documentation in support of software development projects.Manage tasking efficiently and meet deliverable timelines in a fast-paced environment.Play a key role in the Rapid Development Process (RDP) of program documentation, ensuring that required documents and revisions are provided with every software delivery and changes are tracked appropriately through an established Configuration Management (CM) process.Maintain knowledge of system capabilities, enhancements, and functionality in advance of system delivery to end-users.Essential Skills and Experience:

Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an

active Secret Security Clearance .Bachelor of Science (BS) in a technical field or BS/BA in a non-technical field with demonstrated technical writing/communication skills; Years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.Three (3) years of general experience in proofreading, editing, and formatting of technical documentation.One (1) year of specialized technical writing or editing experience for weapon systems or related programs.Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office products (Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint).Experience developing and applying MS Word styles and templates.Demonstrated experience coordinating with document authors in the drafting, review, and publication of technical documentation.Attention to detail in reviewing/auditing project documentation for content, formatting, consistency, and grammar.Demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask, and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.Ability to write clear, logically sequenced, and grammatically correct documents.Preferred Skills and Experience:
