We are looking for a talented Technical Writer that can produce high quality operator’s manuals, quick start guides, parts catalogs, and other various ECHO publications. If so, apply here.This is a hybrid position that will offer the flexibility of working from home and on-site at our Lake Zurich facility.ECHO’s benefits include:11 paid holidaysExtremely affordable medical, dental, and vision insurancePaid PTO (Paid Time Off)5% 401K matchTuition ReimbursementDuties/Responsibilities:Develop operator’s manuals, quick start guides, parts catalogs, bulletins, instruction sheets and manual supplements for all ECHO market areas according to the technical publication schedule.Gather and disseminate technical information through ECHO’s communications channels.Produce high-quality material that meets applicable standards, using easy-to-understand user interface text that is appropriate for its intended audience.Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product, specifications, and the documentation requirements.Analyze existing and potential content, while focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.Maintain and improve formatting, layout, use of SolidWorks Composer 3-D CAD drawings, line drawings, and photos.Manage proper naming conventions, revision control, and file storing procedures.Create and maintain the information architecture (layout & design) and distribute and track original electronic document files in an accurate and efficient manner.Coordinate language translation requirements to minimize translation costs.Cross-train with other department technical writers to learn/teach/utilize InDesign, structured FrameMaker desktop publication software, and SolidWorks Composer files to help in all areas of publications when required.Assist ECHO internal departments with language development, writing preparation, and other company communications when needed.Experience/Skills:Minimum three years of experience in technical writing and desktop publishing desired.Mechanical aptitude and the ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts, develop easily understandable text and pictures, and deliver high quality documentation about the product.Excellent written skills in English with the ability to work with multiple languages.Must be proficient in electronic document development, desktop publishing with a strong working knowledge of structured FrameMaker software, InDesign software, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Suite.SolidWorks Composer Software or equivalent experience is a plus.Must have strong organizational skills and be able to meet strict deadlines.Education:
