OverviewThe Area Vice President of Sales & Marketing is primarily responsible for leading & driving top line revenue strategies for their assigned hotels. This individual is additionally responsible for staying ahead of market trends, market share movement and ongoing competitive hotel analysis, while directing the property Director of Sales & Marketing. This position will report to the EVP of Sales & Marketing, with dotted line to EVP Operations - New York, and responsible for overseeing sales & marketing for Highgate’s managed hotels in the New York region.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement sales revenue maximization plans for all segments & channels (that lead to increased market share).

Lead & motivate sales teams.

Understanding competitive set landscapes/mapping in the various sub-regions.

Evaluate group pace/position reports and a wide variety of key sales metrics (group & transient).

Sales deployment design & goal setting/measurement, implementing sales incentive plans.

Key account management.

Marketing plan development & expense budget management.

Sales activity and travel scheduling & management.

Understanding/evaluating STR, Hotelligence 360 & financial reports/data.

Marketing communications knowledge/experience relative branding, public relations, eCommerce & social media.

Experience with ownership/asset management group relations.

Experience with new hotel launches & management transitions/property takeover (branded & independent).

Ability to cooperatively work with hotel GM’s & teams, operations, revenue management & development/acquisitions.

Sound time management/organizational skills - critical to the position’s success.

Understanding and embracing rapid growth, directional change & ability to reverse direction.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Marketing

Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience as a sales leader in an above property position.

Regional or Multi-Unit sales oversight experience required.

Prior track record as a Hotel Director of Sales & Marketing in major markets.

Experience dealing with and communicating with ownership groups and asset management.

Experience working collaboratively with revenue management.

Well rounded knowledge of all market segments and channel sources, as well as ability to develop a strategic plan for each.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to direct, lead, train, motivate & drive a team of DOSM’s.

Must be proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Must be able to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines.

Salary Range : $190,000 to $210,000 + Bonus + Benefits.
