AWS Service Docs is looking for an outstanding technical writer for the Network Firewall and Firewall Manager services. As a technical writer, you will create and publish technical documentation for the Amazon Web Services technology platform, including developer guides and detailed API documentation.

Successful past delivery of developer-oriented technical documentation for a programming platform is required. Must have experience writing documentation for APIs, SDKs, components, and tools. Your documentation will be used by internal software developers and external 3rd parties who build and manage security deployments in the Amazon Web Services platform.

This position requires precise documentation, and clear communication and presentation skills.

Key job responsibilities

Design, develop, and deliver high quality documentation for AWS Network Firewall and AWS Firewall Manager while always keeping the customer top of mind.Develop content, re-use, and single-sourcing strategies.

About the team The AWS Documentation team writes and provides support for a diverse technical audience, such as developers, DevOps professionals, IT professionals, and technical program managers. On behalf of our customers, we innovate, we research, we learn, and we experiment. We collaborate with product managers to understand our customers’ needs. We partner with software developers to learn about the inner workings of AWS services so that we can influence product design and the customer experience with the product. We know that what we do makes a difference to our customers. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

4+ years of experience in a writing or lead writing roleStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsAble to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and able to manage multiple competing prioritiesProven ability to work directly with teams of software engineers and write for a developer audiencePast success designing documentation for software APIsIntermediate knowledge of XML, markdown, or HTMLIntermediate experience with GitExperience designing, planning, and delivering content that meets the needs of a technical audienceProven ability to use and follow a style guide

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in web services, software development, and network and application securityFamiliarity working with docs as codeAn understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)A proactive and unbiased attitude to resolving problems and delivering resultsStrong attention to detail
