We are seeking a knowledgeable individual with expertise in broadcast systems and equipment, specifically IP equipment for uncompressed/compressed video formats and multicast networking. This role will be part of our Systems Engineering & Support group, responsible for maintaining and supporting the core broadcast infrastructure and architecture at NBA in Secaucus, NJ, as well as remotely at NBA Arenas. The individual will also be responsible for addressing critical issues during live games.Major Responsibilities

Support, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot broadcast systems and IP-based equipment, including production routers, multiviewers, production switchers, IP codecs, and network switches.Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex issues to ensure operational standards and uptime.Support live environments for production control rooms, Game Distribution Center & Replay Center.Interact and support remote arena engineers, production, IT, operations, and domestic/international customers/vendors.Install and configure equipment for content acquisition and distribution.Configure and maintain critical on-air systems.Implement software upgrades and system expansion.Analyze problems in software and hardware-based systems.Create procedural documentation.Mentor and train team members.Ability to work all shifts associated with 24x7x365 production environments. Off-hours support will be required on a rotating basis.Experience

Required Skills/Knowledge:Background in broadcast and/or media industry.Knowledge of broadcast TV standards, workflow, and technologies related to routing, switching, encoding, audio processing, and distribution.Technical IT background to maintain server-based digital video and audio control systems, graphics systems, automation systems, and associated software and hardware infrastructure.Knowledge and experience in core routing and switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting.Experience with uncompressed and compressed video formats (SDI, SMPTE 2110, H.264, JPEG2000).Understanding of video stream metadata, including triggers, timecode user bits, closed captioning, etc.Familiarity with video and broadcast delivery solutions, such as Evertz, MediaKind, Ateme.Knowledge of IP networking and multicasting, including streaming media protocols (RTP, RTSP, UDP).Ability to work independently and creatively.Experience Needed 5 - 10 years of broadcast IT or engineering experience.Educational Background Required College degree in Communications/Engineering or related field. Significant field experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.Salary Range [$110,000 - $135,000]The NBA does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms or any other third parties.
