Working in our newly expanded Tool Room, you will design tools and dies that are used for drawing, forming, and stamping metal kitchenware. Some of your common tooling designs will include blank and draw dies, compound forming dies and stage tooling, as well as associated jigs and fixtures. You may also get to work with Injection and die cast mold design. You'll be an important member of the team working closely with our Tool Room, Engineering, New Product Design, and Production Departments to make sure Nordic Ware's products meet our customers' needs.What you will get to do:Design tools and dies for in-house manufacturing with punch pressesDesign Jigs and fixtures for secondary operationsDevelop draw dies and progressive diesDevelop custom machinery for product assemblyCollaborate with new products team to determine optimal manufacturing processesSupport tool makers and design teamCreate and maintain tooling files (3D CAD and Engineering Drawings) to ensure physical tools match CAD files and accurately represent the final tool design, documenting all revisions to toolingGenerate tooling Bills of Materials (BOM) and initiate purchase order requestsAssist in troubleshooting tooling during assembly and in production environmentWhat you'll bring to the role:Associate degree in Machining, Manufacturing, Tool and Die, or a related field preferred2-5 years' experience in Tool and Die designing or a related role preferredPreference given to candidates with proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCADAbility to create and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and solid modelsSolid experience in metal forming tool and die designAble to conceptualize and design tools to fabricate parts to specificationProficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Outlook and Excel, for effective communication and collaboration with colleagues3 Axis machining experience a plusKnowledge of Injection Molding and Die Casting is beneficial but not requiredGood technical skills and strong mechanical aptitudeStrong follow-through and time/deadline managementAbility to communicate with others and collaborate with a teamAbout Us:Nordic Ware is a leading manufacturer of high quality and innovative kitchenware products.
