We are hiring creative, motivated, and talented people with a passion for doing what's right, what's smart, and what works.Position DescriptionRedhorse Corporation has an opening for a Technical Writer. The ideal candidate should have experience in writing and preparing responses to government Requests for Quote (RFQ), Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI), and requests for white paper (RWP). The technical writer engages company-wide throughout the entire business development and proposal lifecycle to create compelling content. The technical writer supports production from pre-proposal responses to Government requests and works under the guidance of a proposal manager through each step of proposal creation and the color-review-team process.Tasks include:Analyze RFI/RFQ/RFP to help ensure Redhorse compliance matrices match proposal evaluation criteria.Assist in developing win themes and proposal strategies.Participate in storyboarding and content development meetings.Lead the outlining, writing, and revising of compliant and compelling text for proposal sections as assigned, typically to include Past Performance and Technical Approach volumes, and work to ensure synchronization and compliance with Government RFQ/RFP requirements for all proposal volumes, including those not assigned to lead writing.Research and gather information from online sources and Government publications. Interview Redhorse program managers, task leads, and technical subject matter experts (SME) to collect technical and methodology information. Incorporate research into creation of winning proposals.Work in a fast-paced and dynamic office environment.Minimum Basic Requirements for Experience, Skills, Education and Credentials include:B.S. or B.A. in Business Management, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Political Economy, Political Science, Sociology, Economics, or other appropriate discipline that provides the functional skills to satisfy the responsibilities of a technical writer.Four (4) years of experience required and minimum of two (2) years in coordinating or writing business development proposals and sales or marketing communications.Strong critical thinking and analytic skills, attention to detail, and excellent proofreading abilities; ability to research and synthesize information from a variety of sources and to present findings in compelling writing.Collaborative personality and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment; ability to staff written products and resolve conflicts that arise during staffing and review processes.Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced and sometimes unstructured environment; “self-starter” ability to handle multiple priorities with limited direction under target timelines.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Outlook).Additional Preferred Requirements for Experience, Skills, Education and Credentials include:Understanding of Federal Contracting process.Understanding of Shipley color-review-team process for proposals.Familiarity with concepts, practices and procedures in working with FFP, BPA, T&M, and IDIQ contracts.Experience with managing proposal activities in federal environments (especially national security requirements).Proven organization and project management skills.Working computer knowledge for word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, and database software applications.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledAccommodations:If you are a qualified individual with a disability or a disabled veteran, you may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to access job openings or apply for a job on this site as a result of your disability.
