We have a fantastic opportunity for a
Technical Author
to join our expanding team in Warwick.
Scroll down to find an indepth overview of this job, and what is expected of candidates Make an application by clicking on the Apply button.In this role, you will create and update technical publications (workshop manuals and operator manuals) to the highest quality as digital publications.All content will be produced in line with authoring guidelines and authoring standards. Documentation will meet requirements to drive reuse whilst creating a consistent format for multiple brands in a global marketplace.Main Responsibilities:Gather, collate and interpret information and communicate at a professional level with key internal and customer stakeholders including vehicle engineering and brand personnel.Utilise a suite of structured authoring tools and guidelines, interpret technical specifications to create customer-focused publications.Utilise CAD data and software tools.Author text, simplifying complex systems into structured and understandable content.Create concise graphic briefs for technical illustrators.Manage vehicle validation workshops in conjunction with key stakeholders.Work to tight deadlines.Work under your own initiative with minimal supervision.Project manage relevant projects.Person Specification:Automotive experience desirable.Excellent English, both written and spoken.High level of technical aptitude.Ability to research information required to complete tasks.Ability to refine and develop existing processes and work methods.Capable of managing and prioritising workload and working to tight deadlines.Able to identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions.Ability to proofread technical documentation.Experience working with content management systems (preferable but not essential).Knowledge and experience of how to write and adapt content for specific target groups.An appropriate level of education commensurate with a technical authoring role.Experience in technical authoring.Knowledge of relevant work method tools (XML editors – Xmetal, Altova, CAD - Vis Mockup, Catia, Creo, Photoshop and Microsoft 365) advantageous but not essential.Hours & Location:40 Hours.Warwick – Flexible hybrid working.What we offer:Fair salary.Generous pension.26 days holiday entitlement.Enhanced leave policies – Sickness and parental policies.Refer a friend scheme.Internal employee award schemes.Wellness contribution.Medical cash plan and discount portal.Why Aleido:At Aleido, we look to collaborate openly, build meaningful relationships and try to see possibilities in everyday challenges.
