We are seeking a dynamic Communications Consultant to join this team. In this role, you will:

Partner with nonprofits serving the common good in diverse ways—from creating art to relieving hunger—to develop powerful fundraising communication strategies and materials.

Collaborate across Benefactor Group’s service lines (Capital Campaigns, Capacity Building, and Endowment Building) to shape and articulate fundraising strategies, under the guidance of a project leader.

Job Functions

Essential Job Functions

Craft inspiring, custom fundraising communications.

Provide counsel on fundraising communication strategies.

Collaborate across Benefactor Group’s service lines (Capital Campaigns, Capacity Building, and Endowment Building).

Present information to clients, including executive leaders, fundraising leaders, and key volunteers.

Create content to enhance Benefactor Group’s brand.

Develop and maintain fundraising knowledge.

Meet productivity goals.

Desired Job Functions

Lead multiple projects simultaneously.

Develop fundraising recommendations and strategies for clients.

Support service line growth through marketing and business development.

Qualifications

Required

BA/BS in relevant field or equivalent knowledge and experience.

Nonprofit or fundraising work experience.

Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to synthesize information from many sources and write clearly and concisely, tailoring content and style to different audiences and formats.

Comfort facilitating group conversations and working effectively with staff in various roles and levels, volunteer leaders, donors, and prospective donors.

Multi-tasking and prioritization skills.

Able to adapt to meet the needs of the internal team, the client, or a particular situation.

Openness to feedback from diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Strong proofreading and editing skills.

Desired

Experience creating donor-facing communications, preferably for major or principal gifts audiences.

Ability to translate complex concepts into lay language and synthesize material from multiple sources.

Work Environment and Compensation

Position reports to Fundraising Communications Service Line Leader. Remote position with the expectation of 20% travel, including three annual firm-sponsored retreats (at Benefactor Group headquarters in Columbus, OH) and travel for client projects, as required. Candidates in Central Ohio will be asked to maintain a hybrid schedule consisting of two days of in-office work on a flexible schedule, to be mutually agreed upon with Benefactor Group leadership. The position includes a competitive base salary and performance-based compensation. The annual target compensation range is $78,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience. Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package including major medical, retirement, and more.
