Are you a current undergraduate student looking for an exciting summer opportunity? Savvas Learning Company is seeking undergraduate students who want to join our Summer Product Development internship program in Northbrook, IL. Our internship program is eight weeks long and is a great opportunity for students to gain valuable experience.During the program, participants will receive guidance from top teams in the K-12 education field, work on real-life business projects, attend weekly informational sessions to learn about other business areas, network with other students, attend off-site events, and finally, present a project to Savvas' senior leaders at the end of the summer to showcase the impact you've made on our business.Our internship positions are full-time opportunities, 40 hours per week, requiring a hybrid work schedule, 2 days onsite, in our Northbrook, IL office. You'll typically be onsite on Wednesdays and another day as determined by you and your mentor during the first week of the program.The Learning Experience Design Intern is a contributing member of the LXD team. This person brings experience and passion around user experience design, user interface design, product design, or visual design to embed themselves in the UX and Product Design teams. They show curiosity, efficiency, and clear communication, and will help ensure that Savvas products are engaging to students and save educators time.The LXD Intern is responsible for contributing to user experience projects by providing wireframes, flows, research questions, and high-fidelity design concepts. They may also contribute visual design concepts for Product Design projects, such as concepts for branding, visual design strategy presentations, and interactive ideation and prototyping. The LXD Intern is a detail-oriented self-starter who is skilled and experienced in collaborating and learning. Their passion for user-focused design solutions and creative excellence is critical to their success.Responsibilities :Design wireframes, flows, and prototypes using Figma or Adobe Creative Suite

Develop innovative visual and interaction designs that meet and exceed user expectations

Contribute to ideation across projects assigned

Maintain timelines and adhere to schedules for project work

Collaborate with the overall Learning Experience Design team as well as cross-functional teams

Offer perspective to the product and user experience design process

Work independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with the design team

Translate strategic direction into high-quality design

Be the voice of the user through understanding of user research and market trends

What We Are Looking For:You are a current student enrolled in an undergraduate program from an accredited college or university, graduating after August 2025, studying Design or UX

You have a Design Portfolio that demonstrates experience and evidence of visual, UX, and UI design, and showcases product design from initial strategy through the final detailed design application

You're enthusiastic about working in a hybrid environment, onsite a minimum of two days per week in our Northbrook, IL office

You thrive in a fast-paced culture with tight deadlines and shifting priorities

You're comfortable working with cross-functional teams in multiple locations and with a blend of expertise and shared mission

You're proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and Figma and have a knowledge of responsive design, HTML, Sketch, Axure, and other digital design tools is a plus, as well as Google Suite products and MS Office

You're an excellent communicator, verbally and in writing

You collaborate well with other groups in a team environment

You're able to self-manage and work independently; Knowledge of design and typography

What's Next?We will begin the screening process in December 2024, qualified candidates will be invited to the following steps:Phone Screen - You'll have a prescreen via phone with someone from our Talent Acquisition Team. During this call, our goal is to learn more about your background and career interests and confirm information from your application. This is also a great time to ask any questions that you may have about the company or the internship program.

Formal Interview - During this stage, you will meet with a panel of interviewers, via video, including your potential intern mentor and other members of the intern leadership team. You'll have an opportunity to learn more about the internship and what you can expect to gain over the summer while sharing more about the skills and experience you can bring to the team.

Offer - If identified as the most qualified candidate, you can expect to receive an employment offer, outlining the internship details and compensation.
