The Energy System Designer will report to the Energy System Design Supervisor and is responsible for designing solar photovoltaic and energy storage systems for Tesla's residential clients throughout the U.S. using Tesla proprietary software.The position requires the ability to develop a system design from photos and survey information of the job site. The ability to be detail-oriented with projects is a must; the ideal candidate will be able to manage a large volume of projects while demonstrating excellent communication skills.Weekend work may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

Use custom software to design residential photovoltaic and energy storage systems based on information gathered from site surveysFollow design criteria including structural, electrical, equipment location preferences, and installation parameters for all Tesla productsWorks cross functionally with other Tesla Departments to ensure clients' needs and internal deadlines are metTrack all projects through the permitting process and be able to communicate to coworkers the status of a projectPerform additional duties as assigned and/or directedRequirements

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment as well as work independentlyCompetitive, goal oriented, and well organizedBasic knowledge of residential constructionExcellent written and verbal communication skills and customer service skillsInterest in technical fields such as engineering, architecture drafting or other related disciplinesCAD experience preferredCompensation and BenefitsBenefits

PV Designer I - $17.00 - $25.50/hourDesigner II, Solar and Energy - $21.76 - $32.64/hour+ cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
