Be a part of the groundbreaking New Shepard program-a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Karman line, the internationally recognized boundary of space. With operational reusability, New Shepard is a key component in our mission to lower the cost of access to space. Innovate and Design:

Develop and test robust electronics enclosures and mechanical assemblies, ensuring precision with tolerance stack-ups for parts or assemblies.Create and Model:

Use 3-D CAD software to create models, part, assembly, and installation drawings with proper GD&T.Lead and Coordinate:

Lead or participate in engineering design and peer reviews and coordinate the procurement of parts and assemblies, ensuring specifications and work process instructions are clearly defined.Collaborate and Report:

Engage with cross-functional teams, including Project Managers, Electrical Engineers, Systems Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Test Engineers, and Production personnel, while providing regular progress updates.Guide and Implement:

Design test fixtures, fabrication tooling, and offer technical guidance during hardware installations.Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree in drafting and design or equivalent experience.2+ years of proven experience in designing/drafting mechanical parts, assemblies, enclosures, brackets, and fixtures.Proficiency in 3-D CAD software and strong mechanical design and integration skills.Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 drafting standards and experience with GD&T.Strong written and oral communication skills.Ability to earn trust and maintain professional relationships within an inclusive culture.Must be a U.S. citizen, national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar engineering field.Experience with PTC Creo, PTC Windchill PLM, and aerospace, launch vehicle, or spacecraft mechanical/avionics systems.6+ years of proven in designing/drafting mechanical parts, assemblies, enclosures, brackets, and fixtures.Ability to perform tolerance stackups.Knowledge of aerospace materials, standards, and design best practices.Practical skills in mechanical assemblies, tools, and shop practices, with experience in additive manufacturing.Flexibility and openness to tackling varied assignments and learning new skills.Why Blue Origin?
