A rapidly expanding global trading desk is looking for a
UI/Typescript Engineer
to join their team in
Houston OR Austin . In this role, you'll be expected to design, develop and test proprietary trading software. The firm has built up a significant set of tools and technology, which you will have access to. You will be expected to pragmatically focus on business value by leveraging our existing tools and infrastructure wherever possible.
What you'll do in this role
:Create tools and workflows that enable exploratory researchDevelop products from inception to production, identifying business needs, user experience, and product evangelismCraft APIs that enable research productivityBuild and iterate on platform software to improve developer experience as well as user experienceBuild web user interfaces for data exploration and delivery of research resultsBuild systems to enable automated testing of systematic trading web-applications and deployment into our production trading environmentCollaborate with your peers at DRW as a subject matter expert to learn & contribute to research work across the firmYou'll be right at home if you have:
An entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to work directly with your software's usersLeadership skills and a team-orientated mentalityExperience working in the trading industry, or a similarly demanding industry, developing business critical applicationsRequired Technical Experience
5 years of experience with web development in a modern front-end framework (React, Angular, Lit, Vue, etc)Great working knowledge of Typescript and CSSAble to manage complex state management paradigmsStrong API design and data modeling skillsUser Experience design skills for data-dense Financial/B2B applications, with an appreciation for design systems/component librariesExperience writing software with large datasets and high availabilityA keen understanding of browser performance optimization techniquesBest practices for client-side code testing using tooling such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Puppeteer, React Testing Library, etcFamiliarity with AG Grid and common charting libraries (HighCharts, D3, etc)Experience with at least one "back-end" programming language (Python, Java, C++, C#, Rust, etc.)
