The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can prioritize and juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, digital-first newsroom.
We are looking for a digital journalist with solid news judgment who is driven by accuracy and innovation to join our team focused on metrics-based storytelling. A strong command of AP-style writing, combined with a creative eye to find and develop engaging and relevant content for our digital and social media platforms, is a must.
This opening involves writing compelling stories and breaking news, copy-editing stories from reporters, publishing videos from newscasts to the website and YouTube, producing videos and graphics for social media, sending push alerts, and managing live streams daily.
This position may also need to help the assignment desk gather information from social media during breaking news and weather events, while also working closely with TV producers and reporters in the field.
Requirements:
College degree in Journalism preferred
Knowledge of AP-style writing
Solid news judgment and the ability to think outside the box
Strong communication skills
Ability to work with a team in a deadline and goal-oriented environment
Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving
Experience:
Previous writing and digital content producing experience in a TV newsroom
Broad knowledge of and experience with all social media platforms
Experience with video editing for digital platforms, including vertical videos for social media

The hourly compensation range for this role is $29.35 to $34.62.
Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
