The Sr. Manager, Sales & Marketing Applications is an Information Technology (IT) professional who will provide technical oversight for all applications used by the Sales, Marketing, Sales Operations and Customer Service departments within the company. This role will lead a team of IT professionals and third party services that maintain existing applications, as well as collaborate to introduce enhanced functionality within the Sales & Marketing Applications area of the company’s application portfolio. This role interfaces with internal customers and business sponsors at a corporate and business unit level in order to establish business requirements related to the acquisition and/or development and implementation of business systems and enhancements. This role reports directly to the Senior Director, Enterprise Applications.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Manager, Sales & Marketing Applications will oversee all technical activities required to support the Sales & Marketing Applications within the company:Analyzes complex business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and recommends technical solutionsEnsures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutionsDirects operations in executing production tasks according to a documented schedule that meets or exceeds customer expectationsProduces detailed time line for each application release and implements effective project control by monitoring the progress of the software release and reporting the statusDirects and prioritizes the work load of subordinate personnelReviews all designs, code and unit test plans where applicableEnsures all business requirements are reviewed and approved prior to technical developmentParticipates on all relevant hardware and software evaluations and maintains vendor contractsRepresents the IT function at customer review meetings when appropriateDirects education programs for her/his staffPerform liaison duties between users, operations, and programming personnel in the areas of systems and application design, modifications or trouble shootingPerforms salary administration, performance evaluations and conducts interviews and makes recommendations for new hires, consultants and/or replacement personnelParticipates in business strategy discussions and determines potential IT contributions in delivering the business plans

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related discipline preferredMinimum of 10 years of experience working within IT and/or a similar applications-focused role with at least 4 years managing technology activities associated with Sales & Marketing ApplicationsStrong leadership, project management skills, time management, and problem solving skillsKNOWLEDGEThe Sr. Manager, Sales & Marketing Applications must have in-depth knowledge and experience of the following:Solid understanding of the Salesforce.com platform including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and AppExchange. Experience in supporting Servicemax or Salesforce Field Service is a plus.Experience with website technologiesUnderstanding of EDI processes is a plusProven experience in IT Management or similar roleExperience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT Applications and their specificationsKnowledge and experience with system integration tools, as well as supporting internal and external integrationsExperience in controlling information technology budgetKnowledge of and exposure to Sales & Marketing processesExperience within the industrial manufacturing industry is a plusCOMPETENCIESThe Sr. Manager, Sales & Marketing Applications acts in a leadership role and must demonstrate the following attributes:The ability to lead, enable and motivate teams by providing advice and guidance in a nonjudgmental fashion.Openness to and the ability to deal with, rapid change in business needs, processes and technologies.The ability to foster collaboration and resolve conflictSolid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies and tools with proven ability to successfully manage projects in a matrix organizationExceptional time management and the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate where appropriateA passion for customer experienceOutstanding communication abilitiesTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:This position is located in our Corporate Headquarters in Alpharetta, GA.
