Job Description:
The Business Intelligence / Data Visualization Specialist is responsible for transforming raw data into meaningful insights through the creation of compelling and interactive visualizations. This role plays a crucial part in helping stakeholders understand complex data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and InterpretationCollect, clean, and analyze data from various sources.Identify trends, patterns, and outliers in complex datasets.Draw conclusions and insights from data analysis to support business decision-making.
Data Visualization Development:
Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.Create clear and concise visual representations of data to communicate key findings effectively.Tailor visualizations to specific audiences and their needs.
Data Storytelling:
Present data insights in a compelling and engaging way, using storytelling techniques.Communicate complex information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with stakeholders across different departments to understand their data needs and objectives.Gather requirements and translate them into effective visualizations.Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and persuasive manner.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense, PowerPoint).Strong understanding of data analysis techniques and methodologies.Experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL).Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes is a plus.
Other Responsibilities:
Stay up to date with the latest data visualization trends and best practices.Contribute to the development and improvement of data visualization standards and processes.May be involved in data modeling and database design.
Recommended Experience:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field
Experience:
5+ years of experience in a business intelligence or data analysis role, with a focus on data visualization
Specific Skills:
Proven ability to create compelling and informative data visualizations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Bonus Points:
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, other Enterprise Data Lake solutions).Knowledge of data science and machine learning concepts.Certifications in relevant data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau Desktop Certified Associate
