Position Title: Designer II

Position Duties: Support the development and production of design, specification, and working drawings on master planning and architectural building design projects. The scope of services would include all phases of architecture from Conceptual Design through Construction Support Services and Post Occupancy Evaluations. Tasks include:• Prepare scale drawings or architectural designs, using computer-aided design or other tools.• Prepare information regarding design, structure specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, or construction time.• Integrate engineering elements into unified architectural designs.• Develop marketing materials, proposals, or presentations to generate new client/work opportunities.• Design or plan construction of green building projects to minimize adverse environmental impact or conserve energy.• Monitor the work of specialist consultants, such as electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, interior designers, or sound specialists to ensure the optimal form or function of designs and/or final structures.• Provide renderings appropriate to the level of documentation (concept, design development, and final).• Client meeting attendance, note-taking, and preparation of minutes.• Provide QA/QC (Quality Assurance / Quality Control) documentation and commentary commensurate with experience in design documentation as well as bringing document sets into conformance with QA/QC commentary.Telecommuting is permitted up to 50% of the time from Seattle MSA.Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or Architectural Design, or a foreign degree equivalent.Minimum of 3 years of experience in performing architectural design, including 3 years of experience with all the following:1. Planning and drafting contract documents;2. Translating complex designs into clear construction drawings;3. Working with building materials, construction detailing, and building codes;4. Preparing specifications and material approvals;5. Incorporating engineering elements into architectural designs and reviewing the output of specialist consultants;6. Hand sketching;7. Physical model making in wood, acrylic, foam core, and millboard;8. CAD drafting using software such as Revit and AutoCAD;9. 3D modeling using software such as Revit, Sketchup, 3Ds Max, and ArcGIS Pro;10. Rendering and post-rendering using software such as Lumion and Adobe Creative Suite;11. Working with documentation and presentation software such as Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office; and12. Multi-project, collaborative design teams.Experience may be gained concurrently.

Position full-time, 40 hours per week, with Rolluda Architects, Inc. in Seattle, WA.

Salary: $66,851 to $73,000 per year.
