Director, Corporate Communications Moderna is seeking a Director of Corporate Communications to work within the Brand & Corporate Affairs team on integrated, highly visible, and complex communication programs, with a focus on executive visibility, corporate events & sponsorships, and special projects. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Affairs, the Director will serve as a strategic partner from project kick-off to delivery—project managing, organizing, and driving meetings with internal and external stakeholders. The most qualified candidate will also influence functional leaders on the communication strategy, and pivot fearlessly adapting to evolving company goals and objectives in a fast-paced environment, while acting with urgency to meet critical business objectives.Here’s What You’ll DoOversee the executive visibility program, and behave like an owner by designing and implementing impactful communications strategies for company executives, including high-profile event participation, coordinating executive preparation, and evaluating opportunities to ensure alignment with Moderna’s values and business goals.Support the creation and dissemination of key messaging frameworks, ensuring clarity and consistency in communications from the enterprise to executive leadership, pursuing options in parallel exploring multiple communication strategies to enable rapid decision-making when needed.Monitor industry trends and news cycles and questioning convention to proactively identify opportunities for thought leadership and engagement.Oversee projects and strategic events from inception to execution, driving innovation and excellence by delivering highly engaging and disruptive communication plans across channels and mediums, always seeking to exceed expectations.Deliver highly engaging and disruptive communication plans across channels and mediums.Independently create strategies, concepts, and designs for new projects in a constantly changing environment, pivoting fearlessly by adapting quickly to new data and evolving circumstances to ensure Moderna’s communication efforts are always cutting-edge.Provide cost estimates and monitor budgets to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery, while taking and accepting calculated risks that are necessary to drive impactful and innovative communication solutions.Acting with dynamic range to ensure all content is on-brand and meets stakeholders’ requirements and deadlines, managing both strategy and execution to achieve seamless communication outcomes.Ability to simultaneously manage, coordinate, and execute several communications projects, proactively removing barriers to collaboration and driving collective action while adhering to timelines and budget parameters.Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or relevant field.9+ years of progressive corporate communications experience in a publicly held multi-national company.Experience managing vendors and creative agencies.Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)Experience in mid-large scale global biotech or pharmaceutical industry highly preferred.Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to articulate business value and outcomes of strategic initiatives.Expertise in project management, including risk management, issue resolution, detailed planning, and leading both internal and external meetings.Solution-oriented with a growth mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in ambiguous environments.Skilled at building consensus and collaborating effectively in cross-functional, dynamic matrix teams, while incorporating feedback.Strong analytical skills to measure and adjust communication strategies for effectiveness, with biotech or pharmaceutical experience as a plus.Committed to executional excellence and contributing to a high-growth, transformational company driven by Boldness, Relentlessness, Curiosity, and Collaboration.About ModernaSince our founding in 2010, we have aspired to build the leading mRNA technology platform, the infrastructure to reimagine how medicines are created and delivered, and a world-class team.
