Job Summary :

The Senior VTC Technician is responsible for daily management for off-site VTC and Conference Room systems such as scheduling VTC with external sites.

Problem resolution and configuring rooms to meet requirements for scheduled conferences.

Performs video capturing and transfers video to a media streaming server.

Performs operations and troubleshooting of VTC and conference room equipment and executes repair or initiates trouble ticket to the appropriate office for support of components and connections external to the site VTC system.

Performs routine performance testing to ensure VTC and other conference room equipment computer servers and workstations operate at optimal performance and capacity.

Serves as Tier 3+ technician who works on uncommon incidents/requests outside of standard scope.

Supports VTC and Presentation Conferences, verifying functionality prior to conference, helping with conference setup, and troubleshooting issues as needed during conferences.

Performs spot checks of equipment to verify functionality on a predetermined schedule.

Troubleshoots problems with Codec hardware, network, VLAN, software configuration, inter-device connections, etc.

Responds to and resolves trouble tickets within the required Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Performs user training.

Mentors junior VTC techs.

May be asked to staff the help desk or go to customer locations throughout the facility.

Responsible for maintaining an accurate and complete Government asset inventory.

Skills & Abilities :

Ensures compliance with command training and other employment requirements in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) for self and staff.

Completes orientation and competency verification programs in accordance with departmental guidelines by self and staff.

When assigned, will serve, and participate in functions and other meetings.

Provide relevant and timely information and assists with decision-making and process improvement.

As required, participate in customer service initiatives and activities.

When required, participate in the orientation, training, and evaluation of duty performance of newly assigned personnel, as appropriate.

Strong analytical skills.

Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as foster a cohesive team environment.

Education/Experience :

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 4+ years’ experience in VTC and/or system administration, and preferably DHA experience.

Experience with project management, time management, and good coordination skills.

Certification(s) :

Security+ CE or higher and a Computing Environment (CE) certification (E.g. Help Desk Management).

Clearance :

Must have a Secret security clearance and be able to maintain.
