Ranked 35 among national universities, Boston College has 888 full-time and 1,281 FTE faculty, 2,711 non-faculty employees, an operating budget of $1.4 billion, and an endowment in excess of $3.5 billion.Job DescriptionAssistant or Associate Director of Marketing and Fan EngagementReporting to the Assistant AD for Marketing and Creative Services, the Assistant or Associate Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement will help provide leadership and oversight. This includes:Assisting with the coordination of marketing and promotional efforts for Boston College Athletics, its thirty-one athletic programs, and more than 730 student-athletes.Managing graphic design and creative work supporting marketing, advertising, fan attendance, fan engagement, and overall game day presentation.Executing annual Men’s Ice Hockey, Women’s Ice Hockey, Field Hockey, and Baseball sport marketing plans, advertising, attendance strategies, fan engagement, and game day experience programming.Building strong relationships with Student Affairs, Residence Life, Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Undergraduate Student Government, and the Campus Activity Board.Creating and executing annual marketing plans for men’s hockey, field hockey, women’s hockey, and baseball.Assisting with managing one graduate assistant, one work study student, and twenty-five student marketing volunteers.Acting as athletics liaison for BC band programs, including scheduling and coordination of performances around athletic events.Ensuring compliance with all department policies and guidelines.Complying with all applicable Boston College, ACC, and NCAA rules, guidelines, and policies.Representing themselves in a manner consistent with positive representation of Boston College.RequirementsAssociate Director: Minimum of 3 years of experience specifically in intercollegiate marketing.Assistant Director: Some experience in intercollegiate Marketing.A bachelor’s degree is required.Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to foster and maintain working relationships with individuals representing other departments within the University, sponsors and prospects, and partners within the Boston College Community.Ability to work nights and weekends around athletic events.Proven experience with the following applications and web development software: Adobe Premiere and PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Excel, Motion Graphics, Adobe InDesign, Javascript, HTML.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work effectively with college student athletes, athletic staff, University personnel and Alumni.Ability to lead and inspire others to achieve goals.Closing StatementBoston College offers a broad and competitive range of benefits depending on your job classification eligibility:Tuition remission for EmployeesTuition remission for Spouses and Children who meet eligibility requirementsGenerous Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLow-Cost Life InsuranceEligibility for both University-Funded 401k and Employer-Sponsored 403b Retirement PlansPaid Holidays AnnuallyGenerous Sick and Vacation PayAdditional benefits can be found on Boston College Employee Handbook.Boston College conducts pre-employment background checks as part of the hiring process.
